The Olympics 2004 were a mixed experience for me.

On the negative side were the chronical half empty stadions and the many problems with unallowed substances esspecially by the hungarian and greek team. However it's a good sign that so many are catched – one of the good things Jaque Rogge changed...

On the positive side were the good weather and the music - both in the opening ceremony and during the competitions.

A positive note about the chinese: not one incident involving unallowed substances in the chinese team. And - this is also true for nearly all ex-communist countries - the women are looking like women again. That makes me looking foward to Bejing 2008...

And to prove that I present - the in my honest opinion - most beautiful athlete of the 2004 Olympics in Athens: Zhang Nan - note that the first name in chinese comes last – eighteen year old athlete from the Poeple's Republic of China.

She has won the bronze medal in the all-around gymnastics competition - and tragically lost her gold medal on the balance beam because of a little faux pas, where she lost balance and has to shortly leave the beam before her exercise was over - but still has a great result: 9,325 – better than some who hasn't left the beam...

In general the greek have done quite good job, but a little more enthusiasm wouldn't been bad – And I would've love to see more competitions in the acient Olympia and the 1896's Panatinaikos-Stadion.

If you look on the last three Olympic Games Sidney would've won Gold, Athens Silver and Atlanta Bronze...

At last I hope that the TV-stations are broadcasting a wider variety of sports in the future. Not only soccer (22 idiots chasing a ball) or tennis (boooring)...(-;

I really like to see more swimming, diving and gymnastics on TV...
