The Story:
Rachel Flax and her kids are moving into a new town...again...after Rachel has broken up her relationship...again...and again her daughter Charlotte isn't really amused.
15-year old Charlotte don't want to end up like her mother and is planning to enter a convent and become a nun. The only positive Charlotte can see in her new hometown is that there is a convent...
Lou really likes Rachel and her kids but is she really ready for a real relationship...
And Charlotte's plans to become a nun are interrupted by the young school-bus driver Joe...
My Opinion:
A wonderful comedy. In 1990 the names to promote the movie were Cher and Bob Hoskins who are doing a wonderful job, but the real shooting stars were Winona and Christina Ricci.
When you watch the movie you can see that the cast had real fun...
Like on Great Balls of Fire and Beetlejuice there's a great dance scene...

and I couldn't get better because I was so cold all the time.

Noni and I had some
catastrophic days and we cried a lot. Both of us were insecure being
told that out instincts weren't on target. Noni was battling insomnia
and chewing her nails up to the elbow. If I wasn't so strong and she
so trusting, we would never have gotten through it.

You stop
communicating because you can't articulate what you're feeling. You
assume your parents can read your mind. You're confused, they're
confused. It's a party of confusion.

It was the last day
of shooting which was great, so we had the whole movie behind us, so
we were really excited.
