My Opinion:
After the first Alien (the never reachable masterpiece) this is the 2 nd best Alien. The scecond is just a simple shoot'em'up computer game turned into a movie...and the third is just to religious to be a good sci-fi movie.
Some have said this movie is „too french“...but I really like the look of the movie and the character of Call. But this maybe explains why Alien Resurrection made most of it's boxoffice outside the US.
The story contains good action and also some wonderful character-building moments between Ripley and Call. And Alien Resurrection features a great supporting cast: Dominique Pinon, Ron Perlman and Brad Dourif – the last two well known from other sci-fi movies.
I mostly like the scene where Call is accessing the mainframe of the „Auriga“. Some MP3-soundbits from that scene you can get below.
I really enjoyed seeing Winona in a action movie, she should play a action role from time to time...

In the released version of the movie it remains unclear what earth looks like in the distant future...maybe because they want an „open end“ for a sequel. However scenes were shot were Ripley and Call finally land on an devastated earth...they're looking at the ruins of Paris, a little „inside-joke“ of the french director...
