The Story:

Autumn in New York is a sad love-story...

The young beautiful Charlotte Fielding fells in love with the older womanizer Will Keene...but Charlotte has a terminal heart illness...

Keene who never really loved before fells deeply in love with Charlotte...but her illness takes a turn for the worse...

My Opinion:

The script is somewhat predictable...but after you've watched the somewhat lame first half hour of the movie, the acting is getting better and better...and in the end it's really sad and you'll drop some tears.

I like Winona's portrayal of Charlotte...she's living for today and has a somewhat weird kind of humor about her own situation – but she can't always be sad, what would that change...

It's definitely not the best film Noni made...but not as bad as many critics said...worth watching, especially if you like sad love-stories.

A critic once said about Autumn In New York and Sweet November that these movies would've fit „better“ in the 40s and that this sad love stories are not fitting into the 90s – – – did we get so cold-hearted???

But on the end I dropped some tears...so sad...a young woman has to die...that keeps me empty...and frustrated...

Noni looks in this movie extremely cute...and the cameramen did a splendid job...

Director Joan Chen is mostly known from „Twin Peaks“...

Some of the clothes Noni is wearing during the movie are actually her own dresses...she's a collector of vintage dresses.
